This will be our sixth visit to Marrakech. It has always been a wonderful success played under azure skies. Marrakech is an oasis lying in the shadow of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains that can be seen from the 3 golf courses. The best news for this year is that Easyjet has launched a new service from Gatwick, which will dramatically reduce the price if you book early. Our hotel, the Es Saadi, is a haven of old style gentility. Just a stone’s throw from the walled Medina, one can walk from the Hotel to the Place Kartoubi and take in the astonishing sights and sounds of the market place. Snake charmers vie for your custom alongside fortunetellers, amidst the aromas from a hundred barbecues. In the background is the souk that is a maze of covered alleys lined with stalls selling everything from fake Lacoste shirts to false teeth. In the evening there are teahouses and many superb restaurants catering for all tastes. From there if you have the energy there are bars and nightclubs. This is more Berber than Muslim. To get about use les Petits Taxis. If it costs more than £1 you’ve been round the city twice. Flights to Marrakech are with Easyjet, BA or Royal Air Maroc from Heathrow via Casablanca or from Gatwick non-stop. The timings are such that we can arrange connecting flights from virtually any UK airport without having to overnight at Heathrow or Gatwick. WE can also arrange for you to extend your stay by taking a few days in Agadir. Call us for details.
