Phuket & Hua Hin Thailand 2007-01-20 00:00:00.000 2007-02-04 00:00:00.000
Once again we will be running two trips to Thailand in 2007. This time however they will be different – Thailand 1 will spend 5 nights in the cool northern town of Chiang Rai before flying on our private charter to Hua Hin, just 3 hours door to door. Thailand 2 will spend 5 nights on the fabulous Naithon Beach in Phuket before flying to Hua Hin. We are then just 5 minutes from the Dusit Polo Resort where we will spend the remaining 9 nights on the beach on both trips. All the main tournament rounds will be in Hua Hin. Thailand a la Carte This will enable you to pick and mix your trip. If you fancy a longer break you can start on Thailand 1 and then go down to Phuket for the start of Thailand 2 and even extend your stay there. Or you could come back to Hua Hin and play in the second tournament week there. Alternatively you could fly to Bangkok and go straight to Hua Hin on 12th Jan and then go to Phuket on 21st Jan for as long as you like. In other words the trips comprise 4 modules and you can take as many or as few as you like. The flight is non-stop by Thai Airways to Bangkok and then a connecting 75 min flight to Chiang Rai or Phuket. This trip is designed for golfers and non-golfers alike as we play golf only every other day. If you wish to extend this holiday we will provide you with all the assistance you need. In Chiang Rai we stay at the fabulous Dusit Island Resort on the Mae River. It is just a short ride in a cyclo taxi to town where there is a wonderful night market with restaurants and bars and great entertainment. The Santiburi golf club is one of the finest in Thailand. In Phuket, just 10 mins from the airport, is Naithon Beach, probably the best and least well known of Phuket’s beaches. Our hotel, the Naithonburi Resort, is just 50 yards from the perfect white sand and more importantly just 10 mins from Blue Canyon, Asia’s premier golf resort, with two unbelievable golf courses. We will pplay the Lakes there and offer the Canyon as an optional extra. Our second round will be at Mission Hills. The seafood restaurants on the beach are sensational and ridiculously cheap. Paradise for those who really need a break. We will have our own shuttle buses running permanently between Naithon and the restaurants at neighbouring Nai Yang Beach and down to Patong in the evening for the shopping and hedonistic nightlife. If you prefer a 5 star hotel then we can recommend the Andaman White Beach resort, a small 50-room hotel on its own private beach, which is just a few minutes walk from Nai Thon. Call for details. www.andamanwhitebeach.com Hua Hin is on the beach and we are returning to the luxury Dusit Polo Resort which has become our home for the second half of the Thailand tour. We again provide a regular free shuttle into town for the shopping, seafood restaurants and nightlife. Every year the town becomes more cosmopolitan though the atmosphere is still much more refined than in Patong. In the bars you can hear yourself speak and the old courtesies prevail. Although the sea does not have the azure blue of Phuket, Hua Hin is better in every other respect. If you have never played golf in Thailand you are in for a treat. All you do is hit the ball, your little caddy does the rest and will even mop your brow while you have a drink between holes. In Hua Hin we will be playing both Lake View and Springfield twice. The courses are fantastic and the price of everything is so cheap that you hardly spend once you are there. Of course if you want more golf it is easy to arrange and excellent value.
