Tavira lies to the East of Faro towards the Spanish border. Just 20 minutes down the motorway from the airport this traditional old Portuguese fishing port now boasts two excellent golf courses. The cobbled streets in the old town are brimming with restaurants and bars with fresh fish coming straight from the port. Eating al fresco down by the waterfront is a real pleasure.Prices are much keener here than in the Vilamoura – Almancil area. Tavira is a wonderful little slice of old Portugal with a great atmosphere.
